I had a 13 year career in high tech working with some of the top organizations in Silicon Valley, in addition to being a professional ballet dancer and NFL Cheerleader (Go Broncos!)
While still in tech, I had a book of drawings of pieces I wanted to make for myself someday...it was getting out of hand at over 40 designs haha. When I had my first child I realized the travel all of the time/work all of the time life was not going to be a good fit for us. I then enrolled in some community college metalsmithing classes in San Francisco and a year later I was retiring from tech and moving my family out to Colorado to start Alex Fitz!
We are not the relaxed type of family...we are always on the go! However, I might be the only member of the family that likes it that way and I really am trying to relax a bit more. I have two beautiful children, a dog, cat and a loving and supportive husband. I scratch my dance itch by teaching a really fun adult ballet class once a week. We live in Breckenridge, Colorado so we are usually outside enjoying this beautiful place we get to call home. I'm trying to cook more, but truth be told, I don't like it as much as I wish I did.
We like to get outside and enjoy the incredible mountains that surround us here in Breckenridge, CO. We also are fans of grabbing donuts on the weekend and just going for long drives to explore.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone believes me, but I dream of designs all of the time. On occasion, I'll wake up and draw 3 new designs in just a few minutes. It is so strange for me to think of where inspiration like that comes from. I have a similar experience with dance...your body just does it. I hear music and can see and feel the choreography I would put with it.
I LOVE to entertain. I think we would have visitors at our house every weekend if my husband would allow it. I just really appreciate a strong sense of community and sharing time with those I love.
